What are your favorite brands and why?
I have never been someone who shops by brand loyalty alone — for me it has always been about whether something feels right, whether it belongs in the kind of space I am trying to create. But over time certain names keep coming back, keep earning their place in my mood boards and my Amazon lists and the corners of rooms I am always mentally redesigning. These are the brands that understand something true about atmosphere and warmth and the quiet magic of a space that feels genuinely inhabited.
Anthropologie is probably the one I return to most consistently. There is something about the way they approach a room that feels less like interior design and more like storytelling — layered, textured, and always slightly unexpected. A cushion from Anthropologie never looks like it was chosen to match anything. It looks like it arrived from somewhere interesting and decided to stay. For anyone building a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw inspired space it is endlessly useful because nothing they make ever feels clinical or mass produced.
Oliver Bonas occupies a similar space in my heart for the same reasons. It sits at that wonderful intersection of affordable and characterful — the kind of brand that understands that a home should feel like it belongs to a specific person rather than a generic lifestyle template. Their candles, their glassware, their small decorative objects all have that slightly curious, slightly whimsical quality that suits the wizarding aesthetic beautifully without ever being on the nose about it.
For the darker, more dramatic corners of a Slytherin or Ministry of Magic inspired space I find myself drawn to Cox and Cox — particularly their lighting. There is a gothic restraint to a lot of what they do that feels exactly right for a room that wants to feel powerful without shouting about it. A Cox and Cox lantern on a mantelpiece does the work of ten ordinary decorative objects.
And then there is Amazon itself — which I know is not a brand in the traditional sense but deserves an honest mention because it is where so much of what I feature on Enchanted Living Spaces actually comes from. The trick with Amazon is knowing how to search it, knowing which third party sellers are worth trusting, and knowing how to find the pieces that look like they belong in a Burrow kitchen rather than a warehouse catalogue. That is exactly what I try to do here — save you the hours of scrolling so you can find the magic without the effort.
